Growing up

Sometime amidst growing up, I stopped racing trains and cars; my arms and legs grew too long and got in the way.
I stopped sticking my neck out from in between railway tracks; I have since learnt how close I have come to being run over.
I stopped using words like ‘love’ and ‘forever’ carelessly; I now know what they mean and how very heavy they are.
